Children’s Play Area
For those of you with small children or grand children, you will know the problem. There is no play area in Culworth. If you want to amuse the lights of your life, you have to travel to Sulgrave, Wardington, or now Eydon. This was brought up at a Parish Council meeting  and everyone was agreed that it was a good idea and that it should be looked into.

There have been various meetings with representatives of the council, playground equipment suppliers and other villages that have just built playgrounds and it seems we will need to raise in the region of £15,000. There are grants available, but most of these will need to be match funded with raised funds from the village, so what is really being asked is for willing volunteers that could help source funds, help arrange fund raising events, and offer support in any way possible. Culworth Parish Council has allocated £3,000 towards the play area in this year’s budget (2009 - 2010) to help start the ball rolling.

We are one of the few villages around here with no facilities, and yet we have a good amount of young children in the village and a good school.

Please contact Jim Powell on 07860 638557 / 01295 760779 if you would like to join the committee and help to progress this further.
