A Village Action Plan for Culworth

What’s happened so far?

In October 2000 the Parish Council supported the idea of producing a village plan and agreed a grant of £300 to support the early stages of the work.

A steering group was formed to help develop the plan. A grant of £3,119.20 was approved by the Countryside Commission specifically for the cost of developing and printing the plan.

The first 'Culworth In Ten Years' (CITY) event was held in July 2001 and tested the idea for a village plan with the wider community. More than 40% of the village attended and produced many ideas and suggestions. A report of this meeting was published and distributed to every house in the village.

A questionnaire was delivered to all households in the village in June 2002 and was collected and collated.

|
An all village meeting took place in September 2002 to look at the results and findings of the questionnaire and the formulation of groups to look more deeply into the issues raised.

|
A Traffic Survey on part of the high street took place in July 2002.
|
|
·
|
NRHA, together with Culworth Parish Council and SNC undertook a Housing Needs Survey in November 2002.
|
|

|
In February 2003 the various groups came together and invited everyone to look at their planning so far. The groups had completed matrices to guide them through the planning process and formed the basis of the plan.

June 2003 – The Plan is complete. Copies were distributed to all households in Culworth and to all the relevant authorities.
