What is a Village Action Plan?

However much we might cherish the idea of the unchanging face of the countryside and village life the reality is that change is its only unchanging feature. We cannot prevent change but what we can do is to influence it. A Village Action Plan is a way in which a community evaluates its own needs currently and for the future and plans to meet them.

Why did Culworth need a Village Plan?
The following was put to the Parish Council in October 2000.

·	To promote a shared vision for Culworth that over an extended period of time that seeks to protect and improve the quality of life in the village.

·	To have a plan for maintaining and improving the facilities in the village

·	To be prepared for funding applications that might be needed to attract new funding into the village for improvements

·	To be prepared for planning issues that might arise

·	To protect our investment in our village
